Fall and Spring Camping

Our camping trips are loads of fun.  The scouts participate in lots of activities designed just for them.  Camping starts on a Friday evening and ends on Sunday morning.  We set up tents for sleeping and enjoy camp cooking which is managed by the parents and Pack Leaders.  There's a big bonfire on Saturday night and each Pack gets to perform a skit for the entire group.  This is always entertaining!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Service Projects

 

This year, we walked through a local neighborhood for our Scouting for Food service project.  We collected canned goods and other non-perishables which were given to a local food bank.  We collected over 800 pounds of food this year!  Each Christmas holiday, we visit a local nursing home to sing Christmas carols to the residents.  We walk the halls singing Joy to the World, Silent Night and many other favorites.  This always gets everyone into the Christmas spirit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pinewood Derby Racing

This is an exciting annual event!  The scouts learn to design their own Pinewood Derby car that will compete in the Pinewood Derby Race at the Pack level.  Winners move on to compete at the District level.  The boys soon learn there is a science to building cars that can go fast!  They can also win awards for best design! 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Summer Road Trip

Every summer, the Cub Scouts take a summer road trip!  This year we visited Washington, DC and the National Museum of African American History, went to a baseball game, visited the Lincoln Memorial and the National Air and Space Museum.

Meetings and Events

Scouts meet weekly in Den meetings to make crafts, learn skills and have fun together.  The entire Pack meets once a month to demonstrate what they have learned and to recognize the achievements of the scouts.  At the year-end Graduation ceremony, scouts advance to the next highest den.
